3 Feb 2020 (AFR) – Drought-hit farm sales to drag down price growth

‘A rise in listings as drought-hit farmers opt to sell up will put the brakes on farmland prices this year, says to rural lender Rabobank. “Land price growth will slow down considerably in 2020,” the bank said in its flagship Agribusiness Outlook Report. Rural land values have surged in recent years, outpacing residential and commercial property price rises in some regions. Rabobank’s farmland index released in July recorded a 15 per cent gain in 2018.’
