2 Oct 2019 (AFR) – Housing stock dip defies spring trend – Listings dry out across the board

‘Stock levels dropped 4 per cent across the country during September – traditionally a strong month for selling – reversing the 2.9 per cent rise in listings recorded in August as hungry buyers bought up available homes. In Sydney, housing stock fell by 5.7 per cent, Melbourne dropped by 5.8 per cent and Hobart by 6.4 per cent – the largest decline during the month, figures from consultancy SQM Research on Tuesday showed.’
