1 Oct 2019 (AFR) – China’s factory output expands at fastest pace in 19 months

Beijing | China’s manufacturing activity expanded at the fastest pace in 19 months in September driven by higher output and new orders, a Caixin survey showed on Monday (AEST), suggesting domestic demand is supporting the economy amid a prolonged trade war with the US. The Caixin China General Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI), which gives an independent snapshot of operating conditions in the manufacturing sector, rose to 51.4 from 50.4 in August, the highest reading since February 2018.’
