17 Sept 2019 (AFR) – Australians reassess commitment to Hong Kong – Clock is ticking for HK expats

Hong Kong | Australian companies and expatriates in Hong Kong are reassessing their  commitment to the Asian financial centre after four months of protests, and amid doubts about the city’s autonomy under Chinese rule. While there has been no exodus of expatriates or withdrawal of large Australian companies based in the city, many of the 100,000 Australians living in Hong Kong have been rattled by scenes of police firing tear gas and rubber bullets at crowds of protesters on the streets close to where many work and live.’
