‘Australian shares were unable to recover from a heavy sell-off at the start of the week, as trade war concerns pushed the local sharemarket to its worst week in nine months. The S&P/ASX 200 Index fell 184.2 points, or 2.7 per cent, to 6584.4 this week while the broader All Ordinaries lost 182.7 points, or 2.7 per cent, to close at 6663.4. On Monday, the Chinese yuan breached the psychological seven per US dollar mark causing the equity market to sell off over fears China was manipulating its currency in order to fight the trade war. The market extended the loss on Tuesday after global markets were sent diving.’
