‘June’s interest rate cut and post-election confidence boost gave home loan commitments a much-needed boost but failed to avert the weakest lending year in six years, official figures on Wednesday showed. Boosted by the first monthly pickup in investor lending commitments in 11 months in June, total home loans rose 1.9 per cent to $16.8 billion in seasonally adjusted terms.’
