2 Oct 2018 (AFR) – Commodoties boom not over yet – Energy commodities drive record export values

‘The value of Australian commodity exports is tipped to reach a new record in the 2019 financial year, prompting federal Resources Minister Matt Canavan to declare the “mining boom in this country is far from over”. The prediction for Australian commodity exports to be worth $251.8 billion will be made in a new report by the department of industry’s chief economist Mark Cully, which reveals the strongest value growth is occurring in commodities linked to energy consumption such as liquefied natural gas (LNG), lithium and thermal coal.’
