2 June 2018 (AFR) – Italy puts the boot into EU – Italy’s new government: Not much joy for Germany or France

‘The risks posed to the eurozone by the emergence of a new eurosceptic government in Italy and the threat of the 19-member currency bloc’s third biggest economy being engulfed by a financial crisis could not have come at a worst time for Europe. “All the conditions have been met,” the anti-establishment Five Star Movement (M5S) and the right-wing League party declared on Thursday as they unveiled a coalition after months of high political drama in Rome following March’s inconclusive election.’
