4 Jan 2018 (AFR) – Hobart housing enjoys smooth sailing in a turbulent market, but for how long?

‘Hobart house prices have had an extraordinary run in the last 18 months, often beating other capital cities in terms of capital gains, but how much longer can this heated market run? Some of the best forecasters and analysts say the double digit growth is coming to an end and that the fundamentals behind strong price growth in Hobart don’t stack up any more. Hobart had the best quarterly growth in Corelogic’s latest figures at 3.1 per cent.  Property valuer and principal of Suburbanite Anna Porter has questioned a QBE Australian Housing Outlook which ranks Hobart very highly.’
