6 May 2017 (AFR) – Half of Australians would feel mortgage stress if rates rose

‘More than half of Australians would be under mortgage stress if rates rose 2 percentage points, according to a new Galaxy poll commissioned by CoreLogic. The poll, used to build a picture of who the Australian home buyer is now and how they would look in the future, showed that only 10 per cent would have no difficulties with any interest rate increase.’
