20 Apr 2017 (TheAge) – China’s $9.3t stockmarket has investors nervous again

[COMMENT: I am including a chart from www.stockcharts.com of the Shanghai Composite – click on it for a larger version. Note the last few candles at the right hand end of the chart – falling sharply (the candlestick chart is my favourite chart type). But also note that the index is still above the lows of several weeks previously.]

‘The stability in China’s stock market this year is showing signs of cracking. In the past three full trading days the Shanghai Composite Index has fallen 2.4 per cent, the steepest such decline since mid-December. The psychologically key 3,200 level has been breached for the first time in two months, while a measure of volatility is climbing.’
