13 Apr 2017 (AFR) – Crane total across Australian cities has peaked, RLB Crane Index shows

‘The completion of large “precinct-sized” projects, tighter financing and competition for suitable sites have triggered the first decline in the total number of cranes across Australia’s skyline in the five-year history of the RLB Crane Index. There was a decline in the number of cranes on the skylines of seven of 10 cities counted – to a total 654 in March from 666 in September – the quantity surveying firm’s latest half-yearly report showed. The result was driven lower by a decline in the number of cranes on commercial, education and public projects.’
