17 Mar 2017 (TheAge) – ‘Official’ fall in median house price at odds with all house data – Valuer-General reports fall in Melbourne’s median house price but figures disputed

‘Melbourne’s median house price has fallen for the first time in about four years, according to the latest official data. But it flies in the face of all other major data providers that have widely reported solid house price growth over the September quarter. Metropolitan Melbourne house prices dropped 3.9 per cent in the September quarter — and 1.5 per cent over the year — to a median of $600,800, according to data from the state Valuer-General.’
