22 Feb 2017 (AFR) – Active managers deliver worst results since 2009

‘A report from S&P Dow Jones Indices has confirmed what most industry observers already knew, that calendar 2016 was a poor year for Australian fund managers with the majority of equity and bond funds getting trounced by the benchmark. Analysis of more than 1000 Australian funds from the ratings agency and index compiler showed the sub-par result from active Australian fund managers was the worst performance since the report was first published in 2009.’
