11 Feb 2017 (AFR) – Reserve Bank of Australia’s new mantra ‘Don’t worry, be happy’

‘Eight years after the GFC smashed the global economy the signs are beginning to turn.’

‘Reserve Bank of Australia boss Philip Lowe is well-known for his optimistic outlook on life, a personality trait that has long distinguished him from his more dour central banking peers. So traders should not have been so stunned this week when Lowe adopted a more upbeat tone in the statement released after the RBA’s first board meeting for the year, noting that the improved outlook for the global economy had buoyed commodity prices and boosted Australia’s national income.’
