11 Feb 2017 (AFR) – China US trade booming amid import-tariff threats – Companies ignore Trump’s tough talk on China as trade flourishes

‘China has begun the year with a stronger than expected trade performance, suggesting momentum in the world economy will provide a boost to Beijing in 2017, as it withdraws credit stimulus in an effort to lower debt levels. Imports for January rose 15.9 per cent in yuan terms, nearly three times faster than analysts were forecasting, while exports rose an impressive 25.2 per cent.’
