16 Jan 2017 (AFR) – Wall Street banks pass struggles to asset managers

‘Wall Street’s biggest banks are in a bright spot after years of massive lay-offs and pay cuts. The same cannot be said for the largest asset managers. On Friday, several big banks kicked off the fourth-quarter earnings season, reporting big jumps in profit, with debt-trading revenues surging amid volatility after Donald Trump’s election as next US president.’
