‘Bankers expect a busy 2017 for mergers and acquisitions as boards embark on deals to buoy growth or shake-off non-core assets. Sectors tipped to dominate activity include infrastructure, resources and general industrials, particularly if the local currency weakens further as the US readies for further interest rate rises.’
