6 Dec 2016 (TheAge) – Australian retailers feeling more upbeat than they have in years

‘The housing boom, low interest rates, a currency that is just right, and strong employment figures have buoyed retailers this year. Now they are feeling more upbeat ahead of Christmas than they have in years. More than 90 per cent of retailers expect consumer confidence to hold steady or increase next year, a survey has found, and almost two-thirds expect their earnings to increase by at least 5 per cent. ‘
