6 Dec 2016 (AFR) – Inventories to the rescue – Wholesale restocking may have kept the economy afloat last quarter

‘An unexpected rise in inventories may have prevented the economy from contracting last quarter, when it was weighed down by weak profits and below-average wages growth. Economists largely stuck to their predictions for a weak gross domestic product report on Wednesday, but said the risks of decline in GDP had eased.’
