14 Oct 2016 (AFR) – China coal imports surge as local mines close

‘A hot summer, closure of illegal mines and better than expected steel production has delivered a surprise turnaround in China’s coal imports, which rose 15 per cent over the first nine months of the year. The unexpected revival comes just months after some were forecasting China would no longer require imported coal and would eventually become a net exporter.’
