30 Sept 2016 (TheAge) – Energy the big winner as Opec cuts; Woodside, Oil Search may not capitalise on OPEC deal

‘Energy shares rocketed higher on Thursday, following the surprise decision by OPEC to cut production for the first time in eight years, though companies that rely on the spot price may benefit more than those locked into supply contracts.  Oil surged more than 6 per cent, boosting energy companies to multi-month highs and setting alight what has been a sideways trading ASX. ‘
