20 Sept 2016 (TheAge) – Loose tweets can sink floats, warns Australian Securities and Investments Commission

‘Loose tweets can sink floats, according to the Australian Securities and Investments Commission. So can overly optimistic Youtube clips, LinkedIn posts and Facebook missives. That’s the take out of a review by the corporate watchdog of the marketing practices of companies and issuers involved in the first sale of a company’s stock to the public. ASIC has warned Australian Securities Exchange listing hopefuls and their promoters to ensure their campaigns “comply with the letter and spirit of the law”, particularly in regards to social media use.’
