‘Is the nation’s biggest live cattle exporter, Wellard, throwing off the whiff of a bargain or the stench of a collapse? It appears the man behind Pakistan’s largest meat exporter, Tariq Mahmood Butt, sees the glass half full. As Wellard’s shares sank to a record low 22¢ on August 31, when it warned it was seeking waivers from its financiers to continue as a going concern, Mr Butt doubled down on a holding he began building from as early as July.’
