19 Dec 2015 (AFR) – ASX bounces off year-lows, thanks to Fed – sparks hopes of Santa Rally

‘Australian shares endured a volatile week of trading, plumbing lows last seen in 2013 before rebounding to a weekly gain as the US Federal Reserve delivered on its interest rate increase. The benchmark ASX200 index lifted 0.1 per cent on Friday and 1.5 per cent for the week to 5106.7, after dropping as low as 4909.5 on Tuesday, while the broader All Ordinaries was up 0.1 per cent on Friday and 1.5 per cent for the week to 5106.7.
