24 Jun 2014 (AFR) – China manufacturing finally starts to grow – growth lifts $A

‘China’s efforts to boost its economy through targeted lending, tax breaks and public spending is starting to pay off with a new private-sector business survey showing conditions improved for the first time in six months in June. Factory output and new orders increased by more than they had been expected to this month, and inventories declined, according to the survey compiled by HSBC and Markit Economics. The turnaround came as consumers bought more goods and China’s trading partners lifted their export orders, albeit at a slower pace than in May.’
