15 Feb 2014 (AFR) – Chinese factories face weak demand

‘China’s factory gate prices tumbled for a 23rd straight month in January, prompting calls for the government to lower its economic growth target for this year to a more realistic 7 per cent in order to bolster the case for speedier structural reforms. Producer prices declined 1.6 per cent last month from a year earlier, following a 1.4 per cent drop in December, according to National Bureau of Statistics figures released on Friday.’
