19 Jan 2013 (AFR) – Fears of hard landing demolished by growth

China’s economy grows 7.9pc

‘China’s government has declared its economy has stabilised after reporting stronger than expected growth of 7.9 per cent in the December quarter, ending a two-year run of weaker quarterly results.’

‘The rebound from 7.4 per cent growth in the previous three months is expected to extend into the middle of this year as the government speeds up approvals and funding for road, rail and water projects, the economic outlook improves for China’s big trading partners and the housing market benefits from lower interest rates.’
